The things they say!

3 things quickly:

1) Yesterday after nap the students wanted to sing. So I let them take turns singing what they wanted. Lily gets up and this is what we hear:

"I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie world, ........ you can brush my hair, and whiskers everywhere!" HILARIOUS!

2) We finished academic testing yesterday and to reward my students for a job well done, I brought them popsicles today. They were THRILLED! In their excitement they started blurting things out like "I love you Mrs. Thompson" "You're the best Mrs. Thompson" "Mrs. Thompson you're hot" Here is the kicker "Mrs. Thompson you're hot and sexy" My jaw dropped and I had to tell him that isn't the right thing to say to your teacher!

3) So one of my girls thinks she has to be first at Everything...including the first one done with going potty. She finishes her business but comes out of the stall with her pants halfway down. Today I had to help her get her button done right and in the process had to bend down.....and I heard this "Mrs. Thompson has a big booty!" OH MY! She was totally trying to be funny, but we had to have a chat too!

4) I know I said three, but I thought of one more. I have a little girl that doesn't (it's not that she can't, she is somewhat lazy and talks like a baby) say the 'ck' sound. There were three girls waiting for me at 7:30 this morning and while they played I was checking my email. They decided to play "kitty", all I kept hearing was, "here titty titty", "no, titty", "pretty titty." I was laughing so hard on the inside.

Unbelievable!

Yesterday as my kiddos ate their snack after naptime, they were allowed to have some talking time. What this means, is that they sit in their chairs and they chit chat, like they have wanted to do all day! Sometimes their conversations absolutely crack me up!

Yesterday some were eating green apples and others were eating granola bars. One of them piped up with "raise your hand if you have a green apple, raise your hand if you have a granola bar." They all followed suit and raised their hands at the appropriate time. This then turned into :

"Raise your hand if you like bananas"
"Raise your hand if you like pizza"
"Raise your hand if you like red apples"
"Raise your hand if you like McDonalds"
"Raise your hand if you like Peanut butter and jelly"

You get the point!

For those of you that read my last post, you met a girl named Olivia Rose Bartlebaugh Tinkerbell Rockstar Sam. She is the star of this post again today. She bravely spoke up and said to the whole class.....

"Raise your hand if you like to go to Starbucks and get a vanilla scone!"

The class went silent, all eyes were on her and they all stared....of course none of them knew what in the world she was talking about! It was THE funniest thing to witness!!! She simply shrugged her shoulders and said "What?!?! I like it!"

I told her mom this morning and she laughed so hard that she cried! Hilarious!

I hope your weekend is fantastic!

Holly: Enjoy your spring break....I wish it were mine too...two more weeks for me and I will see you soon! Love ya and am praying for you!

Dani: BE CAREFUL in Chicago and have a blast!

Elizabeth: I hope you are feeling well and taking good care of my neice or nephew inside of you!

Capital T

So in reviewing the capital T today, we were talking about things that would start with a capital T. I reminded them that names always start with a capital letter. I called on a boy in our class named Tyler and told them that Tyler would really have to know how to write the capital T because his name started with it. I also mention that Mrs. Thompson would have to have it down because Thompson started with a T. My teacher's aide Ms. Washington's first name is Tonya so she has to know the capital T very well also.

Then I see a little hand go up, so I call on her. I knew her name didn't have a capital T in it, but I was curious to see what she was going to say.

"My name after Bartlebaugh (her last name) but before rockstar starts with a capital T!"

My thoughts exactly...huh?!?!? Ms. Washington and I exchanged glances and I decided to dig a little further. Olivia then told me her WHOLE name...and I made her tell me several times! I even wote it on the board...are you ready???

This is her WHOLE name:

Olivia Rose Bartlebaugh Tinkerbell Rockstar Sam

I am NOT joking! I laughed SO hard. She LOVES anything tinkerbell, she sings all the time and apparently the show icarly has someone named Sam that she really likes (I asked her if it was after me...haha!)

Later in the day I called her that several times. She just smiled and went about her business. Then she informed me that I don't have to call her by ALL of her names. Just Olivia!

SO CUTE!
